Skills to Succeed programme

Primary Mentoring Intervention

Overview

Skills to Succeed is a unique sports mentoring programme designed to inspire positive change in children through the power of sport. Our mentors deliver a primary personal development curriculum either 1-1 or small groups that combines both classroom-based learning and physical activities, to help students to understand and develop positive skills, attributes and behaviours. With our principles being at the heart of everything that we do, the programme aims to help children to make progress, feel empowered to achieve and enjoy the journey to becoming the best version of themselves.

Programme outcomes

✔ Reduction in negative behaviour and conduct
✔ Increased positive engagement in school
✔ Improved self-awareness and self-reflection
✔ Enhanced self-belief and self-esteem
✔ Enhanced teamwork and leadership abilities
✔ Stronger communication and problem-solving skills

✔ Supported with the transition into secondary school

✔ Improved attendance

measuring impact

We know that the powerful work that we do works, but it’s important that we can evidence this for the schools too. We will work closely with the school to collect data to monitor and report on children’s progression. From the progression data and children’s attendance and behaviour data, we will create termly Impact Insights reports for your school, which can be used at Governor meetings or with OFSTED.
